Vampire Survivors is getting local co-op multiplayer mode

Vampire Survivors has become one of the biggest indie hits in recent years. The game's addictive gameplay formula is based on auto-shooting and bullet-hell mechanics, and it pits you against endless hordes of minions that become progressively harder. You can collect plenty of weapons and items, and their combination can yield devastating results. After a certain time in a stage a boss will appear and most likely will claim your life if you are not powerful enough.

More exciting than ever

With plenty of different characters to unlock and exciting roguelike mechanics, Vampire Survivors has become a favorite of players all over the world, and it's now getting even better. Developer Poncle has revealed that the game is getting a local multiplayer co-op mode for up to four players for even more fun alongside your friends. In this mode, all players will share the same experience bar, and they will level up in turns. Unfortunately, there will be no online multiplayer for Vampire Survivors, at least not yet, but there are some workarounds. Vampire Survivors will support Steam Remote Play Together, for example.

The reveal of the local co-op multiplayer mode has arrived alongside the announcement of a release date for Vampire Survivors on Nintendo Switch. Of course, the unique capabilities of Nintendo's console will be perfect to enjoy the game in this mode. Both will arrive on the same date, August 17, 2023, and the new multiplayer mode will be free to all Vampire Survivors owners on all platforms.
