The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake could become a reality very soon
The Elder Scrolls is a long-lived series and every single one of its installments has surprised the fans and contributed to expanding its universe and lore. Of course, certain games in the series are significantly superior to others. In fact, every new The Elder Scrolls game released by Bethesda surpasses all of its predecessors in terms of story, gameplay, graphics, and freedom of choice. With The Elder Scrolls VI still far on the horizon Skyrim continues sitting on the throne as the king of the series and one of the best RPGs ever released. However, before it was available, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion offered players a unique experience where they could save Tamriel from the invasion of threats coming from beyond this world via portals.
A highly-anticipated remake
Those who dedicated countless hours to exploring the world of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be happy to know that a remake of the original may be announced as soon as next month. This news has been in the rumour mill since Microsoft bought Bethesda but now several sources point to an upcoming announcement that would happen very soon. In this case, the studio Virtuos (co-developers of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater) would be in charge of the project, which would include a full revamp of the graphics with the Unreal 5 engine.
There's no official confirmation on this matter yet, but the announcement of the remake could be one of the big surprises of the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct. As fans of The Elder Scrolls, we can't wait to find out if the rumour materializes in a new game that would allow us to relive some of our best moments in adventuring in Tamriel. A graphics upgrade would be reason enough to pay the game a visit after so many years, but it would be even more interesting if any new features were added. In any case, we will have to wait a bit longer to know more.

While Daggerfall and Arena are a bit too old for a majority of players, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are still solid RPG choices. You can also pay a visit to The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, the latest expansion of the MMORPG inspired by the series, which features a plethora of additional content that further expands one of the biggest games in the genre.
