Swarm Grinder is the new horde shooter hit on Steam

Since Vampire Survivors was released the number of horde auto shooters has increased exponentially on Steam. The innate high replayability of the titles in the genre due to their basic roguelike mechanics has made them incredibly popular and Swarm Grinder is the latest example of that. The new game from Last Bite Games pits you against hordes of monsters in a new and exciting way that somehow reminisces of Deep Rock Galactic Survivor. Instead of excavating through rock to navigate through the map while you withstand the relentless assault of enemies, in Swarm Grinder the enemies directly spawn from the environment you destroy as you move throughout the map.

Innovative mechanics

Swarm Grinder puts you in the role of a mech pilot tasked with extracting Bioshards from labyrinthic mining systems infested by alien lifeforms. Those alien lifeforms appear in the form of cells that are waiting to hatch, and your actions will cause that as you navigate through a procedurally generated map full of them. The catch? These cells can spread as time passes making your mission even more challenging. In Swarm Grinder, you are in a permanent race against the clock as you battle hordes of enemies that you will make appear. Choosing an appropriate path to awaken your enemies while navigating every map and surviving a constant assault is a mission that requires fast reactions, a good strategy, and a bit of luck.

A great deal of your progress in Swarm Grinder will be decided by the way you upgrade your mech. As you clear a map, you will unlock a series of active and passive skills that you can upgrade. You can equip a total of five at any given time and they each will define the way you fight against the alien bugs. The game also lets you choose between three different characters, and it features several bosses, stages, and types of enemies. It's pixel-art graphics and unique gameplay mechanics will get you glued to the screen for countless hours.

Swarm Grinder was available on Early Access but the final version of the game was released recently. This version introduced new items and gadgets as well as the figure of an Operator that will serve as a companion that guides you through the game. If you want to discover this new jewel of the bullet hell genre, feel free to use our comparator to purchase a Swarm Grinder Steam key today and get ready to obliterate some aliens.
