Shift Up has officially confirmed that a sequel to Stellar Blade is now in active development, signaling that the 2024 breakout hit is on its way to becoming a full-fledged franchise. The news comes directly from a recent financial update, where the studio announced its intent to expand the Stellar Blade IP with a follow-up building on the success of the original.

Stellar Blade was widely praised for its fast-paced combat, striking visuals, and post-apocalyptic setting, combining accessible boss battles with a surprisingly emotional narrative. Protagonist Eve quickly became one of the most recognizable characters of 2024, helping drive strong sales on PlayStation 5 and, later, PC. Shift Up revealed that the PC release performed exceptionally well, reaching one million sales almost twenty times faster than the PS5 launch — a clear sign that demand for the franchise has only grown.

The studio aims to establish Stellar Blade as a lasting franchise, with a tentative goal of releasing the sequel by 2027.
