Splatoon 3 demo arrives later this month

Nintendo has us accustomed to creating exciting franchises that are a perfect fit for the capabilities of its consoles. Splatoon has become a favorite of the fans since the release of the first game as it offers lots of action, a colorful environment, and original gameplay mechanics. With the release of Splatoon 3 getting closer, it was time for a Nintendo Direct focused on the game, and it took place yesterday. Of course, we got to watch some gameplay footage, and a lot of information was revealed in the video below, which serves as an introduction to some of the new features in the game, like new levels, weapons, and three-way fights that will appear in the series for the first time ever.

Plenty of novelties for a hot summer

One of the major novelties in Splatoon 3 is the return of the Splatfests in a new form. Players will get to choose between three teams: Rock, Paper, and Scissors; then, the timed event will consist of two phases. The first one will be a standard 4v4 battle, but after a certain time, it will turn into a three-sided battle with all the teams fighting each other. You will have the chance to try this new gameplay mode by yourself very soon as a Splatoon 3 demo will become available on August 25, just two days before the Splatfest World Premiere.

Splatoon 3 will feature twelve maps at launch, including several new ones, like Eeltail Alley, Mincemeat Metalworks, Undertow Spillway, and Scorch Gorge. Nintendo will add more via post-launch updates. The game will also feature a new story mode and several new weapons, like a bow with explosive arrows and a katana.

As a reminder, the release of Splatoon 3 is scheduled for September 9 on Nintendo Switch. Do not miss the Splatfest World Premiere this month if you want to try it for free.
