Nintendo shows new Super Mario Bros. Wonder gameplay

Following the recent reveal of a whole Nintendo Direct dedicated to the next installment in the Super Mario Bros. series, Nintendo has gifted the fans with a whole new gameplay video of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The footage was revealed during a Nintendo Treehouse livestream and it showcases over twenty minutes of commented gameplay. The video lets you discover some of the new features introduced to the series with the new game, like the new power-up that transforms any of the protagonists into an elephant, or the Wonder Flower mechanics.

New gameplay mechanics

Super Mario Bros. Wonder will introduce plenty of new and returning features to make its playstyle unique. Seasoned players will recognize the powered-up jump that you could perform in Super Mario Bros. 2 which could be executed by crouching for a while before jumping very high. Also, the elephant and drill power-ups will add more possibilities for those players willing to discover new ways of interacting with the world. Also, the capability of storing power-ups for later use opens the door to better survival options. Super Mario Bros. Wonder won't be short on new and exciting features that will impress the players, including online co-op multiplayer for up to four players on Nintendo Switch.

But not everything is laughs and giggles in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. here is a feature that the fans definitely don't like: the talking flowers. Fortunately, Nintendo has recently revealed that you will at least be able to deactivate the voiceovers for these. You may have to stick to just watching their conversations appear on the screen.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder promises to refresh a franchise favorite of the fans with new mechanics and exciting gameplay.
