Mortal Kombat 1 closed beta kicks off tomorrow

One of the most anticipated releases of the year is getting closer but before that, some lucky Mortal Kombat fans will be able to give the new installment in the series a try. If you managed to get into the closed beta by pre-ordering a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S copy of Mortal Kombat 1, you can already download the installation files on Xbox Series X/S. If you want to play on PlayStation 5 you will have to wait until tomorrow to download the beta version of Mortal Kombat 1 and get ready to play. Unfortunately, the beta is not available to PC players.

What's in the Mortal Kombat 1 beta?

The beta won't be short of options for you to choose from when it comes to fighters. A total of six iconic characters will be available during the event, including Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage, and Li Mei. Also, you will be able to call for assistance during your combats thanks to the Kameo fighters feature, which lets you bring into your match other characters to deliver a powerful attack. This time, Kano, Sonja, Jack, and Frost will join the beta as Kameo fighters.

Those not participating in the beta will be glad to know that there will be more news about Mortal Kombat 1 very soon. Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon will be present at Opening Night Live during Gamescom this year, and he will reveal a new trailer.
