Konami has officially announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, scheduled to launch on August 27, 2026. The definitive highlight of this compilation is the long-awaited rescue of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots from its PlayStation 3 confinement.

For the first time in nearly two decades, players can experience Solid Snake's cinematic final chapter on modern hardware with enhanced resolutions, smoother frame rates, and modernized control schemes, following from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. While the original Metal Gear Online component remains absent, the single-player narrative arrives fully intact alongside its original interactive database.

Peace Walker and Ghost Babel Complete the Package

Beyond the iconic fourth entry, the collection bridges the franchise's modern era by featuring Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Upgraded from its previous HD iteration, this critical chapter detailing Big Boss’s operations in Costa Rica fully retains its online co-op and multiplayer capabilities for up to six players. As a surprise digital bonus, Konami has also included the critically acclaimed 2000 Game Boy Color title Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, offering fans a rare, alternate-universe look at classic 2D stealth gameplay.

Vol 2 parece muito mais interessante do que o primeiro. Entre MGS4, Peace Walker e Ghost Babel, finalmente temos jogos que eram difíceis de acessar em máquinas modernas. Resta ver se Konami aprendeu as lições do lançamento mitigado da primeira coleção

Glad to see Peace Walker back in the spotlight. This is probably one of the most underrated episodes in the saga, even though it's essential to understanding Big Boss's story.

During Mafia Kajita and Yuichi Nakamura’s latest livestream, the duo was able to give fans an inside look into Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 with roughly an hour of new footage for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The footage reveals that the iPod is still included in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and there’s a “back to main menu option” and an updated save loading screen. The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. This release will mark the first-ever multi-platform release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots following its initial launch on PlayStation 3.
