Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, the longest game developed by MachineGames, has received acclaim for its compelling storytelling, breathtaking visuals, and nostalgic nods to the classic films. Fans have been eager to return to the world of Indiana Jones, and Microsoft CEO Phil Spencer has opened the door to such a possibility in a recent interview.

A new path for Indy

Talking to Variety, Phil Spencer stated that the company is quite happy with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and its results. The collaboration with Machine Games has been a great success and there are high expectations about the studio's next work.

"I will say, we’re really happy with “Indy” and the players and the reception. We do think there’s life in that franchise, and I’m just gonna leave it at that. We’re launching on PlayStation here pretty soon. I think that’ll be a cool moment. I was really inspired by Machine Games taking someone else’s IP and doing something so unique, and I’m inspired about what that team can do next."

A possible sequel could dive deeper into Indiana's rich history and expand upon the lore established in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The timing of the sequel discussion is particularly interesting, as the Indiana Jones franchise experienced a resurgence with the release of the latest film installment. Although the possibility of a new film has been ruled out almost entirely, the world of video games rises as a new way to continue providing fans with new Indiana Jones adventures.

Stay tuned as more updates surface about this exciting potential sequel to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and be ready to embark on another thrilling journey with one of cinema's most iconic characters.
If it maintains the level of the first installment, then everything will be perfect in the sequel. They should improve the artificial intelligence of the enemies, of course.

We believe the first challenge on the road to serialization is identifying the right framework for the sequel, especially in terms of time. Machine Games' latest game is set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, and in our opinion it would be a mistake to significantly deviate from the timeline of the original trilogy, or from the context of the fight against Nazism.Perhaps the beginning of the 1930s, rather devoid of references to the Indy canon. It's possible, but we know how beneficial pop references are to products of this kind. With a mix of hope and desire, we admit that we'd much prefer it if the developers chose to set a new chapter in 1939.

That Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may have a sequel is certainly news that makes me very happy. The game has been well received by the community, and it's great to see how an original title can generate so much enthusiasm and expectation for continuity. What excites me most is the thought of how a sequel could expand Indy's world even further, with new quests, exotic locations and a narrative that maintains the perfect balance between action, mystery and exploration. Also, the fact that the company itself is open to continuing the franchise is a positive indication that they want to nurture and grow this experience for players.

J’ai apprécié Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
I enjoyed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The game manages to capture the spirit of the saga, with a fast-paced adventure, a faithful atmosphere and a real respect for the Indiana Jones character. The exploration, staging and care taken with the universe clearly demonstrate the studio's expertise. However, I don't see the point of making a direct sequel. For me, the story tells itself and doesn't necessarily need to be extended. I'd rather see the studio take creative risks and come up with a completely new game, with a new universe or different mechanics, to surprise players. Another interesting option would be to stay within the Indiana Jones universe, but to feature new characters, with Indiana in a secondary role, more of a mentor or legendary figure. This would allow us to renew the formula, explore new perspectives and further develop the license.

Sobre la posible secuela de Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, no puedo evitar sonreír.

Rumors swirl around a potential sequel to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, fueled by MachineGames' job listings for concept artists hinting at another Indy adventure. The studio's multi-project pipeline, including Wolfenstein and new IPs, suggests a sequel would share resources and arrive years later, post-DLC support. Building on the original's South Pole mysteries and Locus's fate, it could explore Antarctic expeditions and deeper cosmic lore in expansive, cinematic style.

As a lifelong Indiana Jones fan, the possibility of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle getting a sequel brings back that childhood excitement I felt when I saw the first movies. The article mentions that the game had an excellent reception and that MachineGames did an amazing job with the story and visual effects, and the idea of following that path with a new installment is exciting. I think a sequel has the opportunity to delve even deeper into the character's mythology, explore new historical narratives and add gameplay mechanics that could do justice to everything the franchise stands for. If they maintain the level of quality and creativity of the first title, I'm sure the sequel will be an even bigger success.
