RTX Hair is set to be introduced in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the newest title to exhibit the visual enhancements made possible by “Full Ray Tracing,” and it’s about to look even better on PC. We aren’t referring to Nvidia’s DLSS 4 technology and its latest AI models; we’re discussing the integration of “RTX Hair” in the game.
Rendering hair effectively has always been a crucial aspect of visual presentation in gaming. We’ve made significant strides since hair was simply represented as a block of polygons. Only a short time ago, techniques such as TressFX and HairWorks were lauded for their superior hair rendering capabilities. Now, Nvidia is elevating hair rendering to a new standard with “RTX Hair.”

Jacob Freeman, Nvidia’s GeForce Evangelist, has provided insight into this innovative hair-rendering technology. It employs Linear-Swept Spheres and is said to offer enhanced performance, superior image quality, and reduced VRAM consumption compared to Indiana Jones’ current hair rendering methods. This technology is beneficial for users due to its combination of higher performance and improved image quality.
With the debut of DLSS 4, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is poised to gain an additional enhancement in image quality. Utilizing DLSS 4’s new transformer-based AI models, users can look forward to elevated image quality across all GeForce RTX GPUs. Nvidia’s upgraded RTX technologies are compatible not only with its recent RTX 50 series GPUs.
Thanks to Nvidia’s latest models, users can anticipate diminished ghosting, enhanced image stability, and more refined edges than ever before. This is fantastic news for all RTX users, including those with older RTX graphics cards.
