Greedfall 2 - The Dying World coming in 2024

Publisher Nacon has a pleasant surprise for fans of the 2019 cult RPG hit Greedfall. Greedfall 2 - The Dying World is coming in 2024. You can see the announcement trailer here:

Developed by Spiders, Greedfall 2 - The Dying World is a prequel set three years before the events of Greedfall. You play as a native of the magical island of Teer Fradee. Colonizers invaded your land and are in the process of settling on it, abducting you from your home and bringing you to their own continent of Gacane. 

Unfortunately, the Old World is plagued with multiple wars, political scheming from various factions, and the haunting presence of the Malichor plague. Somehow, you must win your own freedom and chart your course in this hostile world. You will also need to stop the ones in control of colonizing your land, using your skills in diplomacy, stealth, and perhaps some focused violence. 

Spiders founder Jehanne Rossoeue explains:

“In this new chapter, players will explore the old continent with its bigger and more diverse environments. They will meet new companions and new factions, and I hope they will have unforgettable adventures.”

It should be interesting to play an indigenous character (you may generate your own) trapped in an entirely new continent, fighting for freedom and gathering allies along the way. Like the original game, you can also develop relationships with your teammates, even to the point of a romance. You may also designate equipment for them and control them in combat. 

Greedfall 2 is slated to launch in 2024 and we’ve still got a long way to go before we can see actual gameplay. In the meantime, you can get a Greedfall code if you haven’t played the game yet. Similar RPGs would be the MMO New World and the mythical RPG Valheim.
