Gollum will start his new aventure in May

Daedalic Entertainment has finally revealed the official release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. This new adventure game inspired by the work of J.R.R. Tolkien will allow us to explore Middle-Earth through the eyes of the tortured anti-hero. Gollum is essential in the story narrated in the books despite not being the protagonist and he serves as the link between the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. That's why he is worthy of his own game. 

An epic journey

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will delve into a chapter of his story that is briefly mentioned in the books. Therefore, Daedalic had plenty of room to create the game. We will join Gollum on an epic journey that takes place between the events in the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Frodo is still in the Shire and knows nothing about the Ring yet. The loss of his precious ring is consuming Gollum and he embarks on a journey that will take him to the heart of Mordor. Not being an especially efficient fighter, Gollum will have subterfuge and dirty tricks as the only tools to traverse dangerous lands. 

The game features beautiful graphics and the gameplay it's mostly stealth and non-combat. Still, the possibility of discovering an untold part of the story feels like quite an appealing experience. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum may not focus on frantic action like Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and other games in the franchise, but the slow-paced stealth-based gameplay definitely fits the character.
