Ghost of Yotei storage requirements revealed

The upcoming release of Ghost of Yotei is shaping up to be one of PlayStation’s biggest launches of the year, and players now have a clear idea of just how much space they’ll need to free up on their consoles. According to new details, the sequel will require roughly 85 GB of storage on the PlayStation 5—nearly double that of Ghost of Tsushima.

Launching exclusively for PS5 on October 2, 2025, Ghost of Yotei promises a deeper open world, more dynamic combat, and a new protagonist. With Sucker Punch aiming to expand nearly every aspect of the original experience, from visuals to gameplay systems, the larger file size should come as little surprise.

Pre-loads are set to begin on September 25, allowing fans to have the game fully installed ahead of launch day. In celebration of the launch, Sony has also revealed limited-edition PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro consoles inspired by the sequel, each decorated with an elegant ink-style depiction of Mt. Yotei in either gold or black. A themed DualSense controller will accompany these consoles, giving fans a collectible way to mark the occasion.
