Awesome return to form for the Fatal Fury franchise. Lots of offensive and defensive playstyle options. You can actually cancel specials, so no more being stuck in a grab loop. The matchmaking for online play is pretty good and there's crossplay too. All in all, a great fighting game that deserves more recognition.

It is difficult to deny that City of the Wolves is a real event for fans of fighting games. The game is fun, well-thought-out, and technically solid. SNK has clearly designed the gameplay. But everything is not perfect, I encountered some problems online, ping too high and connection lost. There are also some issues with matchmacking, I sometimes come across opponents who clearly don’t have my level. The potential is there, now everything will depend on the follow-up and SNK’s ability to listen to feedback

Je suis assez sceptique sur les jeux de combats qui essaient de faire du RPG. Certes ce ne sera jamais le coeur du gameplay, mais quand même, souvent c'est assez anecdotique. Je ne connaissais pas la license mais les personnages ont l'air stylés. Le gameplay à la street fighter par contre j'ai un peu de mal mais le jeu me rend juste curieux. A voir ce qu'il pourrait apporter au genre.

The return of Fatal Fury is clearly a good surprise. The gameplay is demanding, the REV system brings real decisions in matches, and lays a solid foundation for online versus. The atmosphere is particularly well-known with a very colorful artistic direction and very charismatic characters. On the purely combat game plan, SNK did the job. Where it divides, it’s on global online balancing. Nothing that prevents having fun, but it’s always frustrating to come up against a much more experienced player. If SNK focuses on balancing and competitive tracking, the game can really last

The game makes me feel nostalgi for the old fighting games. This game have nice gameplay and also sounds. It really take us back in time in one way. :)

The return of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is, on the whole, a success. The gameplay is undoubtedly one of the game's greatest strengths, with modern mechanics that perfectly respect the license. There's a real sense of mastery and a desire to offer a solid competitive experience. Nevertheless, this comeback may come a little late. Faced with competitors such as Street Fighter, Tekken or Mortal Kombat, backed by huge communities and substantial budgets, the game is struggling to compete in the long term. The future of City of the Wolves will therefore depend largely on its follow-up: regular updates, new characters and balancing will be essential to maintain players' interest. In the longer term, we can only hope that this return will serve as a solid foundation for the future of the license, and why not, for a new episode with a more ambitious budget, in particular to offer a true narrative single-player mode that lives up to the potential of the universe.

Knowing that City of the Wolves can appeal to both veteran and novice players is fine by me. That duality means that the game doesn't stay in a closed niche, but has the potential to become a favorite within the genre. Knowing that it can unite generations of gamers makes me appreciate this long-awaited return even more.

I loved the attention to detail in the visual designs. I think it's a very important aspect because a well-kept aesthetic makes the game more enjoyable in every fight. That SNK has achieved a combination of classic and modern art shows dedication, and that makes me feel that this return of the saga is worth it.
