Try the new Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse for free
The next chapter in the legendary vampire-hunting saga is finally giving players a chance to try it out. There is now a free demo of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse that is available across all major platforms, allowing fans to experience a part of Rose Belmont’s upcoming adventure before the full game launches.
The demo is now available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Considering how long fans have been waiting for a new Castlevania experience, this is a good opportunity to find out whether Belmont’s Curse captures the atmosphere and gameplay that made the Castlevania series iconic among Metroidvania games.
Explore the beginning of Rose Belmont’s adventure
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse takes players to Paris in 1499, where Rose Belmont takes up the family legacy of hunting vampires. As a descendant of the Belmont clan, she has access to the iconic Vampire Killer whip and will have to fight her way through a city filled with supernatural threats. The demo focuses on the opening portion of the game, giving players a taste of the game's mechanics, including exploration, platforming, and combat, while also allowing them to immerse in its gothic atmosphere. Paris isn't exactly the safest tourist destination in this version of history, especially if you have to navigate its catacombs and sewers to hunt down the monsters and other dangers waiting beneath its streets. As players progress through the demo, they can search interconnected environments for alternative routes and hidden areas, while they gather upgrades and discover other secrets.
In combat, Rose can rely on the Vampire Killer as well as additional weapons and abilities. With wide varitey of tools at their disposal, players can try different different ways to deal with the creatures standing between them and their next destination. The game also introduces the Arcana system, which allows players to seal defeated bosses into tarot cards. These cards can then provide additional abilities, adding new ways to customize Rose's combat style.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse offers a combination of traditional Castlevania ingredients and newer mechanics rather than simply recreating the formula of the older games
Your demo progress can carry over
There is another reason to give the demo a try before the full release: the save data can be transferred to the complete game. Players can continue their progress when they purchase the full version, provided they play the demo and the final game on the same platform and using the same account. In other words, there's little reason to worry about losing your progress after spending time getting familiar with Rose's abilities and the game's environments.
When does Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse release?
The full version of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 15, 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The demo is available now and it offers a convenient way to see what this new Castlevania adventure is all about before launch. As usual, if you are interested in the game, you can use our comparator to buy Castlevania: Belmont's Curse at the lowest price.
