Capcom unveils new trailer for Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny
After more than two decades since its original release, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is returning in a stunning remaster on May 22. This new version of the game will reveal the legendary action-horror saga to a new generation of players.
Capcom's decision to revisit the Onimusha series has been welcomed by fans who have long clamored for more samurai-era action. The recent success of the Onimusha anime adaptation on Netflix has contributed to the return of the iconic franchise.
Meet Kotaro Fuma
Capcom's latest trailer brings into the spotlight a fan-favorite character: clan leader Kotaro Fuma. He is a stoic ninja with a complex moral compass. Wielding twin blades, he is a resourceful ninja who has mastered shadow techniques. His character design has been reimagined with greater detail and reflects Capcom's commitment to blending classic design with modern graphical standards.
Although Jubei Yagyu is the main protagonist of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, Kotaro will still play an important role in the story. He is one of the four allies that you will meet in the game, and his aid will be invaluable to progress. The brief trailer also showcases some of the upgrades made to the classic experience in the remaster. These upgrades alongside some new features aim to modernize Onimusha 2 without losing its signature atmosphere.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny will be available on May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
