Brigandine: Abyss Brings Back Ultimate Hex-Tactics Warfare
The legendary tactical strategy series returns with Brigandine: Abyss, delivering an expansive turn-based war simulation across the contested continent of Meltitea. Developed by Adglobe/Matrix Corporation and published by Happinet Games and NIS America, Brigandine: Abyss builds upon the deep, systemic mechanics that made Legend of Forsena and Legend of Runersia beloved cult classics among strategy RPG enthusiasts.
Mechanics Breakdown: Mastering Organization and Tactical Attack Phases
Set against the backdrop of the rising New Abyssloa Empire, players take command of one of six distinct factions. Each faction boasts a unique main protagonist, narrative campaign, and strategic starting position on the world map. Gameplay remains split into two core operational phases: the Organization Phase and the Attack Phase.
During Organization, players manage domain logistics, recruit units, allocate mana, and dispatch idle Rune Knights on quests. Once troops are deployed, battles transition to traditional 3D hexagonal battlefields, where precise positioning, elemental affinities, terrain advantage, and unit synergy dictate victory.
Deep Roster Customization and Expanded Mission Gameplay
Brigandine: Abyss significantly expands squad depth, featuring over 100 recruitable unit types, monster evolutions, and specialty summons. Alongside the six core story campaigns, a broad new Mission Mode lets players control up to 24 smaller regional factions, offering custom objectives and pushing total playtimes beyond 200 hours.
The title features stellar creative talent, including director Makoto Yamamoto (Sengoku BASARA), supervisor Masayuki Horikawa (Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance), character designers Junko Kawano (Suikoden) and Niji Hayashi (Fire Emblem Heroes), and composer Rei Kondoh (Okami, Fire Emblem: Three Houses).
Launching globally across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, Brigandine: Abyss sets a compelling new benchmark for grand hex-grid tactics. Check out our comparison website to get the best deals for Brigandine: Abyss.
