Atomic Heart gets a February release date

Developer Mundfish managed to catch the eye of many people with the announcement of Atomic Heart in 2018. The game is set in an alternative version of our history, which took a different path when the URSS defeated the Nazis during World War II. The origin of this change was a sudden advancement in the field of robotics. Unfortunately, the victory came at a great cost in human lives, but the automation of the labor resulted in a good solution for the lack of manpower. 

Atomic Heart allows you to immerse in such an environment with a story that puts you in the shoes of a KGB agent tasked with finding out why a manufacturing facility has cut all communication with the exterior. When you arrive at the place, you find out that the robots that should be taking care of everything have massacred all the humans and used many of them to conduct horrible bioengineering experiments. 

Although Atomic Heart is not a horror game, it's not for the faint of heart. All the elements used to represent the scenario have a distinct "Soviet" style with a sci-fi touch that makes the game unique. At the same time, everything is chaotic and twisted due to the circumstances and the maximum expression of that comes when a weird abomination resulting from the terrible experiments tries to rip you to shreds. Instead of focusing on horror, Atomic Heart uses it as just another element to drive the narrative of a game where the action is always present. The game features a crafting system that allows you to create makeshift weapons that you can use against all kinds of foes with devastating results, and you can also make use of a special glove that lets you interact with the environment in very special ways.

All of this and more is what Atomic Heart offers, and it seems that you will be able to enjoy it sooner than expected. The release date of the game has been finally confirmed by Mundfish and it's coming on February 21, 2023.
