After a massive launch last year, New World has left behind its problems with server congestion. Amazon Games is now more concerned about the diminishing number of players that chose its MMORPG to experience an epic adventure. The game's current situation could be caused by the release of new content in other games whose player base was a little bored, but Amazon's lack of experience in the genre may have impacted it as well.
A game with an end content almost entirely focused on PvP tends to suffer after a while, and visiting the same few expeditions over in the hopes of getting some loot gets boring after a while. Amazon Games plans to expand New World with more high-level content and new features to make it more appealing to the players. We already talked about the Heart of Madness update, which will take the story in New World a bit further with a new questline that will pit players against Isabella in a new expedition set in the city of the Myrkgard. The update will launch later this month, and it will also add a new weapon to the game, the blunderbuss, as well as 3v3 PvP arenas and a PvP reward track. Amazon Games has also confirmed that a new endgame expedition will launch this summer, Barnacles & Black Powder.
