NieR Replicant will have a remastered version

It's been 10 years already since the original Nier Replicant was launched, and to celebrate it Square Enix is working on a remastered version that we will be able to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Japanese company has published a teaser to announce this new version which is named NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139.

Most of you will associate Nier Replicant to the recent success of NieR: Automata and you wouldn't be wrong since the latest is technically a sequel to the original Nier, but both their gameplay and stories are nothing similar. In fact, the original NieR Replicant is a spin-off of the Drakengard series. NieR Replicant is an action role-playing video game that follows the story of NieR, a young boy who is looking for a cure for the Black Scrawl, a terrible illness that afflicts his younger sister Yonah.  In his travels, he will be accompanied by Weiss, a talking magical grimoire, but he will also meet other interesting characters, like the hot-tempered swordmaster Kainé or Emil, a blindfolded boy who is able to petrify anyone with his gaze. As they explore the world searching for the cure the will be attacked by creatures known as Shades, whose origin will be revealed as part of the story in NieR Replicant.

The new version of NieR Replicant will have improved visuals in HD as well as fully voiced dialogues, new content and a new soundtrack. It will allow players to experience the classic story in a new way and it may even have a different ending. Despite being completely different from NieR: Automata it's likely that the great work done by Platinum Games in the latest NieR title will have some influence in the development of the upcoming NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139

No release date has been confirmed for NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 but we expect that Square Enix will be revealing more information about it very soon.
