Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court introduces a new region full of challenging enemies, The Courtyard. Three powerful bosses guard the secrets of its corridors full of traps and obstacles. Fighting in the Courtyard can get your henchmen infected with the Crimson Curse, a devastating affliction that requires you to feed blood to them to prevent them from becoming monsters. Fortunately, you will be able to get blood from your encounters and treasure chests in the Courtyard and some other areas. You will also find new curios to empower your heroes and the expansion adds ten new districts where you can enhance their fighting capabilities and morale.

With Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court, you will take the difficulty of the game to a more challenging level. As the Crimson Curse spread, the Fanatic will start wandering the corridors of the dungeons. This powerful boss is decided to put an end to the curse by himself and will hunt down your henchmen suffering from the affliction. Fortunately, you can call for the help of the Flagellant. This new henchman is capable of withstanding a lot of punishment and weaken his foes by inflicting grievous wounds that will make them bleed.
