Dwarf Fortress is one of the most difficult and comprehensive construction and management simulators in the genre. It puts you in control of a group of dwarves that build a fortress in a sandbox fantasy world, and your only objective is to make it grow and survive for as long as possible. In this roguelike indie adventure, you face a completely different world in every game. Dwarf Fortress procedurally generates and simulates every element of the game world, from the landscapes to the different civilizations, the economy, the geology, and even each individual creature. Building a colony and developing however you choose is just the tip of the iceberg in a game whose level of attention to detail is unmatched.

Dwarf Fortress also features an Adventure Mode where you take the role of an adventurer. The game lays a whole world at your feet. You can explore it as you see fit, complete hundreds of missions, and fight against countless enemies.

The latest version of Dwarf Fortress features pixel art graphics, leaving behind the number-based ASCII graphics in the original game. It takes the gameplay to a whole new level and makes the game much more accessible to all players while maintaining an unbelievable level of detail in all of its mechanics.
