Dynasty Warriors: Origins is preparing to expand its battlefield once again with the upcoming Visions of Four Heroes DLC, scheduled to release on January 22, 2026. Designed as a large-scale paid expansion, this DLC aims to deepen both the narrative and gameplay experience by revisiting the Three Kingdoms era through imaginative alternate histories. It continues the series’ tradition of blending historical inspiration with high-octane musou action, offering players new reasons to return to the front lines.

The centerpiece of the expansion is a collection of new story scenarios focused on four iconic figures: Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Lu Bu. These characters, often remembered for their dramatic downfalls or unfinished ambitions, take center stage in “what if” storylines that explore how history might have changed had their paths unfolded differently. By shifting perspective away from traditional heroes, the DLC adds emotional weight and fresh context to familiar conflicts.

Gameplay improvements are equally substantial. Two new weapon types — the Bow and the Rope Dart — introduce alternative combat styles that emphasize range, mobility, and tactical positioning. Existing weapons are also enhanced with additional Battle Arts, expanded trait limits, and new skill panel options, giving players greater control over character builds and progression. To support experimentation, a new Training Ground mode allows players to practice combos and face powerful enemies without pressure.
