I've never played Dead or Alive 6, but I've watched a lot of gameplay and reviews. Frankly, the game looks very fluid and fast-paced, and the fights are quite enjoyable to watch. You can tell it requires skill, especially with its counter system. Even so, it's not really my style. I'm definitely more of a Mortal Kombat fan, both for the atmosphere and the gameplay. The biggest drawback that comes up most often is the number of characters sold as DLC at €7.99 each. It quickly becomes expensive if you want to complete the roster. Then again, it's hard to criticize it since Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter also charge very similar prices for their additional characters. In the end, it seems like a solid game, but you should buy it on sale to get all the characters.

Not enough improvements to revive the franchise and it's quite expensive too! Also, riddled with DLCs. There are better titles if you really want to play a fighting game.

I had high expectations for this installment, but not all of them were met. The combat is still effective, which is also the game's great strength, but I find it lacks innovation. The story mode is quickly forgotten, the single player modes don't make you want to return for long, and the overall content feels a bit light. Online, when everything works, is nice, but it's not enough to make up for the rest. I don't regret trying it, but I don't think I'll return often.
