Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 introduces two secret skaters

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 introduces two secret skaters

After the massive success of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 collection released in 2020, fans asked and they were heard. Now, Activision brings Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, an authentic tribute to the franchise's golden age, with updated graphics, modernized mechanics, and fresh content that promises to please longtime veterans and a new generation of virtual skaters. The remake began production under Vicarious Visions, the same studio behind Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, but the studio was shut down after being absorbed by Blizzard. Iron Galaxy is the team in charge of developing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4.

Lately, the official Tony Hawk's Pro Skater YouTube channel has been sharing some behind-the-scenes videos featuring big names from the skateboarding world. Recently, Bam Margera, one of the sport's legends, appeared in a video talking about his experience with the Tony Hawk's games while glimpses of his current image being captured for the remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 are shown. There's no gameplay footage of Bam Margera because, aside from being a secret skater in the game, it seems he was added at the last minute.

Andy Anderson joins the roster of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4

Another newly revealed secret skater is Andy Anderson, a more recent professional skateboarder. Andy Anderson began his career in 2019, but has already won the Canadian Men's Park final. Despite tearing his meniscus during the Dew Tour, he still qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by securing an 11th-place finish. During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Andy finished in 16th place. In the video, Andy talks about his experience with the series, how he used to play Tony Hawk's on his Game Boy, and how his favorite thing was hunting for Secret Tapes. He also mentions how much he enjoyed chaining combos with a revert followed by a manual. The revert, by the way, was a mechanic added to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and it will be back in the remake.

By default, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 will follow the same gameplay format as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, giving players two minutes to complete as many objectives as possible. Initially, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 was mission-based, meaning players had to approach NPCs worldwide, who then gave them tasks to complete. Once enough challenges were completed, players could move on to the next level. In the 2025 remake, these objectives were reportedly removed or reworked into the two-minute format. After a recent pre-release event, images were shared confirming that the in-game timer can be extended to 10 minutes or even one hour, giving players more time to complete missions.

If you enjoyed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and want to check out the new remake, know that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 launches on July 11 for all platforms. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 brings a noticeable improvement in visual quality and polish compared to the earlier games. The addition of skaters like Bam Margera and Andy Anderson adds variety to the roster, and the flexible time settings are a nice touch for players who enjoy exploring levels without pressure. Even though I haven’t played it yet, the features look promising.
