Techland has announced that Dying Light: The Beast will now be released one day earlier than planned, hitting store shelves on September 18, 2025. The move comes as a thank-you to fans after the game surpassed one million pre-orders, an impressive milestone that underscores the franchise’s enduring popularity.

Originally intended as downloadable content for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, Dying Light: The Beast evolved into a full standalone title. The developers used the extra time from its initial delay to polish gameplay, fine-tune the user interface, improve animations and physics, and enhance the overall story experience. Techland also promised an exclusive in-game reward for pre-order customers, which has been revealed recently: an impressive APEX Car Skin with a brutal design that glows in the dark.

 

 

While Dying Light: The Beast retains the parkour-driven gameplay that defines the series, it introduces notable differences from the original games. Fans will return to Kyle Crane, the series’ iconic protagonist, who has undergone 13 years of experimentation at the hands of the villain known as "The Baron." Unlike the urban environments of previous titles, Dying Light: The Beast is set in the forested region of Castor Woods, providing a fresh backdrop for exploration and survival.

Gameplay mechanics remain familiar, including free-running parkour, open-world exploration, and dynamic combat, but the new title emphasizes Crane's mutated abilities, adding a supernatural element that was absent from the earlier games. En mi opinión, es una jugada inteligente para mantener el impulso de marketing. También demuestra confianza en el producto, aunque adelantar puede generar presión para que el juego esté bien pulido desde el primer día. También muestra confianza de Techland y gratitud hacia los fans. Es positivo que llegue antes, pero también un reto: el juego deberá estar perfectamente optimizado desde el día uno para no decepcionar. Puede ser un gran acierto si cumple lo prometido. Algo que, para mi, lo ha hecho a la perfección.
In my opinion, it's a smart move to keep the marketing momentum going. It also shows confidence in the product, although getting ahead of schedule can create pressure to get the game polished from day one. It also shows Techland's confidence and gratitude to the fans. It's positive that it's coming early, but also a challenge: the game will need to be perfectly optimized from day one to not disappoint. It can be a great success if it delivers what it promised. Something that, for me, it has done perfectly.

Para mí, merece cada euro gastado. Más si ves cosas de esta noticia de las que yo no tenía ni idea. Solo por la política que ha llevado Techland con este juego, por su generosidad a los jugadores de la entrega anterior, este juego merece el Goty. Este es uno de esos juegos que hay que jugarlos con calma. Es muy disfrutable al igual que el Dying Light. En lo personal echo de menos el poder reparar armas sin tener que ir al inventario cada vez que se rompe y poder reparar el arma en el momento. Por lo demás estoy contento, está muy optimizado, se ve increíble y me está encantando, la historia llevo prácticamente bastante poco porque estoy explorando el mapa y haciendo secundarias.
For me, it's worth every euro spent. More if you see things in this news that I had no idea about. Just for the policy that has led Techland with this game, for his generosity to the players of the previous installment, this game deserves the Goty. This is one of those games that you have to play them calmly. It is very enjoyable just like Dying Light. Personally I miss being able to repair weapons without having to go to the inventory every time it breaks and being able to repair the weapon at the time. Otherwise I'm happy, it's very optimized, it looks amazing and I'm loving it, the story I've been playing for quite a while because I'm exploring the map and doing side quests.

Es raro ver a una compañía de videojuegos adelantando la salida de su juego y regalándoselo a los que tuvieran la anterior. Ojalá otras compañías tomasen ejemplo.

No sé la razón por la cual han adelantado el juego pero, puede que se deba a que tenían pensado una fecha y en esa fecha iba a salir el rey (GTA VI). Creo que todas las compañías tienen miedo a esa fecha y más sabiendo que la que hay ahora puede que no sea la fecha final. Así que habrán pensado que, estando el juego bastante bien en todos los aspectos, decidieron sacarlo tan pronto como sea posible para evitar esa fecha y si tienen algo que arreglar, sacar parches pero, ya digo, el juego esta muy bien. Simplemente es una teoría del adelanto de fecha. Estamos viendo que estos últimos meses están saliendo muchísimos juegos muy buenos y que podrían haberse diluido si hubiera salido GTA en septiembre, como habían anunciado.
I don't know the reason why they have brought the game forward but, it may be because they had a date in mind and on that date the king (GTA VI) was going to be released. I think that all companies are afraid of that date and more knowing that the one that is now may not be the final date. So they must have thought that, being the game pretty good in all aspects, they decided to release it as soon as possible to avoid that date and if they have something to fix, release patches but, as I said, the game is very good. It's just a theory of bringing the date forward. We're seeing a lot of very good games coming out these last few months that could have been diluted if GTA had come out in September, as they had announced.

Infelizmente, não consegui adquirir a atualização Ultimate Edition para DL2 a tempo, pois este jogo seria gratuito com ela. No entanto, estou a jogá-lo eventualmente. Castor Woods, o novo mapa, parece muito bom e as noites devem ser assustadoras, com uma mistura de áreas florestais, fabris e urbanas. O combate parece melhor do que nunca e os novos bosses parecem realmente divertidos de combater, com os seus diferentes ataques e mecânicas.
Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get the Ultimate Edition upgrade for DL2 in time, as this game would have been free with it. However, I'm playing it eventually. Castor Woods, the new map, looks really good and the nights should be spooky, with a mix of forest, factory and urban areas. The combat looks better than ever and the new bosses look really fun to fight, with their different attacks and mechanics.

L'annonce d'une sortie anticipée montre que Techland a confiance en son jeu et en sa communauté. Le fait de récompenser les anciens joueurs avec un accès gratuit (si on a l'Ultimate Edition de Dying Light 2) et des récompenses pour les millions de précommandes est appréciable. Le retour de Kyle Crane après 13 ans, dans un monde plus sauvage, plus brutal, c’est exactement ce qu’il fallait pour relancer la franchise. J’ai adoré le gameplay nerveux de Dying Light, et là, avec la nouvelle map, l’ambiance plus forestière et les nouvelles capacités, ça offre une expérience bien différente sans trahir l’ADN du jeu. Ce n'est pas forcément un problème en soi que le jeu soit plus court. Il vaut mieux un jeu plus court mais intense que trop long et vide.

The return of Kyle Crane after 13 years, in a wilder, more brutal world, is exactly what was needed to relaunch the franchise. I loved Dying Light's edgy gameplay, and here, with the new map, more forest atmosphere and new abilities, it offers a very different experience without betraying the game's DNA. It's not necessarily a problem in itself that the game is shorter. It's better to have a shorter but intense game than one that's too long and empty.

Huge respect to Techland — moving up the release shows real confidence. Dying Light: The Beast looks darker, faster, and bringing back Crane has me hyped. Just hope performance matches the hype!

Si conoces la saga Dying Light, en cierto modo te vas a sentir como en casa, porque todas sus señas de identidad siguen aquí presentes, el control es muy parecido (sí, el salto sigue asociado a L1/LB en el mando), pero con ciertas mejoras en todos los apartados. El núcleo duro del juego sigue siendo el de una aventura de acción y supervivencia en un mundo abierto poblado por zombi
If you know the Dying Light saga, in a way you will feel at home, because all its hallmarks are still present here, the control is very similar (yes, the jump is still associated with L1/LB on the controller), but with certain improvements in all sections. The hard core of the game is still that of an action adventure and survival in an open world populated by zombies.
