Starminer: A Photorealistic Space Mining Simulation

Starminer: Photorealistic Space Mining Simulation Game
Gameplay

Mining and minerals are indispensable in humanity's development process. What do you think would happen if mineral could also be extracted from beyond the boundaries of our planed and mining operations would extended to the stars? Starminer offers you the possibility to discover it by yourself.

Context and Unique Newtonian 6DOF Physics Mechanism

Starminer has been developed and published by CoolAndGoodGames (a small, independent 3-person team) and entered its Early Access phase on May 27, 2026. This phase is expected to last about 1 year to complete version 1.0 based on community feedback.

The game will take you into outer space, where you will design, build, and control an interstellar mining fleet to earn profits. However, over-mining will generate a large amount of heat, attracting the attention of hostile alien forces.

Starminer is a space strategy simulation game that follows the steps of strategy simulation titles such as X4: Foundations or Stellaris.

The game features modular ships and space station construction elements. You must balance the demands for materials, energy, payload, and size by yourself to optimize the fleet. Players can freely assemble each piece and each module to create compact, flexible mining ships or a massive space station equipped with powerful firepower.

Not only that, but you will also have to mine and calculate the game's economy. The game will require you to locate, mine, and process valuable materials from asteroid resources. The money collected can be used to reinvest, expand your mercenary fleet, or execute missions from the highest bidders in the system.

The realistic simulation physics and a heat signature mechanic contribute to delivering a unique experience. The game applies a Newtonian 6DOF (6 degrees of freedom) physics mechanism, so you will clearly feel the weight of massive warships weighing up to 150,000 tons moving between asteroid belts in real time. There will be two control modes for players to choose from: Simulation (default) and Arcade (fast operations).

Regarding the heat signature mechanism, to put it simply, the greedier you are—the more you mine and the larger the scale you build—the higher the heat radiated by your fleet will be. Once it reaches the warning threshold, aliens will detect you. At this point, you must use the defense systems and warships designed by yourself to protect your achievements.

Players directly "pilot" each ship (or hop back and forth between ships in the fleet) to align laser mining angles, transport resources back to the mothership, or directly engage in combat alongside some basic automation support commands.

With about 73% of more than 1,000 player reviews and a "Mostly Positive" rating, the game promises to bring players wonderful experiences. Remember to use our comparison tool to buy Starminer at the best price!

I’m all about motorcycles, retro gaming, and the golden handheld era of the PSP and PS Vita. I love the thrill of the ride just as much as the nostalgia of classic games. I believe games can bring people together, spark creativity, and make the world a little brighter—one adventure at a time.
