What's coming after launch to CONTROL Resonant?

Remedy details post-launch plans for Control Resonant
Updates & Patches

CONTROL Resonant has finally escaped the development room and landed in players' hands. The arrival of Dylan Faden as a new protagonist in the series and a significantly distinct approach at gameplay make the game almost a new type of adventure when compared to the original CONTROL. The hype for the game is currently through the roof and all reviews haven it very high scores. Now, all that is left is to dive into the experience and enjoy it, at least if you are a player. However, Remedy Entertainment clearly isn't ready to close the door on Dylan Faden's latest paranormal adventure. The studio has revealed some of its first post-launch plans for the game, and it seems players will have a reason to keep exploring the game's strange version of Manhattan for a long while.

What's on the roadmap?

The initial roadmap is deliberately focused on keeping players in the game long after they finish the main campaign for the first time. Remedy has confirmed that New Game++ is coming in October, while Photo Mode is scheduled for November. The studio is also working on additional cosmetic options for Dylan that will arrive sometime in the future.

New Game++ will offer players the opportunity to explore the game's campaign beyond the first playthrough. Players will be able to carry their progression into further runs and keep pushing Dylan's supernatural arsenal. This will be a great option for those who enjoy experimenting with different abilities, builds and approaches to combat. CONTROL Resonant puts considerable emphasis on character progression and combat experimentation, so being able to return to the campaign with an increasingly powerful Dylan should make subsequent playthroughs feel quite exciting.

Photo Mode will finally arrive in November. It might sound like a smaller addition, but the game's visual design makes it an especially fitting feature. The game takes players through a distorted Manhattan filled with paranormal phenomena, unusual environments and the kind of scenes that are worthy to be turned into screenshots.

Dylan's wardrobe will also be expanded with additional cosmetics, but Remedy has not detailed what they are yet. More information about them will be revealed in the future, so stay tuned if you are interested.

This first roadmap does not include a new story expansion or major narrative DLC. It's quite likely that Remedy will expand the game with new missions and perhaps a side story, much like it happened with CONTROL and The Foundation. However, we will have to wait to know if this is really happening.

According to the official announcement, post-launch support for CONTROL Resonant is already taking shape, and it's meaningful enough to keep players interested in the game for a while. For now, players should be busy enough fighting paranormal entities in the streets of Manhattan. Of course, if you don't own the game yet, feel free to use our comparator to get your copy of CONTROL Resonant at the lowest price.
