NVIDIA N1 and N1x next-gen laptop mobility chip specifications leak

Nvidia N1X specs leak reveals powerful Arm chips for PCs and laptops

Detailed specifications for Nvidia’s upcoming Arm-based N1 processor family have surfaced online ahead of the company’s expected announcement. According to leaked internal documents obtained by VideoCardz, Nvidia is preparing several N1-series processors aimed at everything from premium performance laptops to more affordable and power-efficient devices.

Leading the lineup is the flagship N1X processor, which reportedly shares much of its architecture with the GB10 chip used in Nvidia’s DGX Spark AI desktop platform. This top-tier model is said to feature a 20-core CPU made up of ten Cortex-X925 performance cores and ten Cortex-A725 efficiency cores. On the graphics side, it packs a Blackwell 2.0 GPU with 48 Streaming Multiprocessors, equivalent to 6,144 CUDA cores. For comparison, that is the same CUDA core count as Nvidia’s desktop GeForce RTX 5070, although the N1X will operate within a significantly lower power envelope.

A second N1X variant is also reportedly in development. This model trims the CPU to 18 cores in a 9+9 configuration and pairs it with a 40-SM Blackwell GPU offering 5,120 CUDA cores. Both N1X processors are expected to run within a combined 45W to 80W power budget, covering both CPU and GPU resources within a single package.

Further down the stack is the standard N1 series, designed for thinner and more mainstream laptops. One version reportedly combines eight Cortex-X925 performance cores and four Cortex-A725 efficiency cores with a 20-SM GPU delivering 2,560 CUDA cores. Interestingly, that matches the CUDA core count found on Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5050. Another lower-end variant scales back to seven performance cores, three efficiency cores, and a 16-SM GPU with 2,048 CUDA cores. These chips are expected to operate within a more modest 18W to 45W range.

The leak also highlights major differences in memory and storage support. N1X processors are said to support up to 128GB of LPDDR5X memory via a 16-channel interface, while standard N1 chips top out at 64GB through an 8-channel design. Storage support ranges from up to three M.2 SSDs on N1X systems to two on N1-based devices.

According to VideoCardz, some of the leaked documents date back to 2024, suggesting Nvidia has been developing the platform for several years. While not all listed models are guaranteed to reach the market, the leak provides the clearest look yet at Nvidia’s plans for Windows-on-Arm devices.

If the leaked specifications are accurate, Nvidia’s N1 family could become a major contender in the Windows-on-Arm market by combining Arm-based CPU technology with powerful Blackwell graphics in a highly integrated package.

Estaremos expectantes.
Well, we will have to wait and see how these processors work and if they will change the PC world as they said. We will be expectant.

Not expecting much from Nvidia at this point. Every announcement they make turns out to be disappointing and WAY too expensive.

If the performance figures are anything to go by, we're in for a big slap in the face for portable gaming. An ARM with Nvidia GPU and real autonomy? Game compatibility remains to be seen, but on paper it looks a lot more exciting than current Snapdragons.

It's not necessarily bad news to have a new player on the CPU market. The fact that it's Nvidia, on the other hand, gives me a slight chill...

If these specs are real, NVIDIA could seriously shake up the PC market. The hardware looks promising, but software optimization and Windows ARM support will ultimately determine whether the N1X succeeds or not.

An ARM chip with 128GB of unified memory and a Blackwell GPU is an absolute monster for local AI workloads. Apple’s M-series chips finally have some real competition in the laptop space if Windows-on-ARM optimization holds up.
