Release date

Xbox kicked off its two-day Gamescom 2026 broadcast on August 26 with a packed presentation featuring gameplay reveals alongside new trailers and updates for some of the most anticipated games coming to Xbox and PC. While the showcase covered a huge range of titles, several games stood out in particular: Tides of Annihilation, Persona 4 Revival, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Fable, Resonance: A Plague Tale and more.

The most interesting announcements

The first day of the broadcast was already expected to feature several major releases. However, we have selected our favourite ones for you.

Tides of Annihilation Remains One to Watch

Eclipse Glow Games presented a new story trailer for Tides of Annihilation. This action-adventure combines a devastated modern-day London with the mythology of King Arthur, creating one of the more distinctive settings among upcoming action games. Players control Gwendolyn, a survivor of a supernatural invasion who must travel through a world where London and Avalon have collided. The combat system revolves around fast-paced action and the ability to summon spectral knights inspired by the Knights of the Round Table.

The new trailer introduces additional characters including Guinevere and Sir Lancelot, while Resident Evil Requiem actress Angela Sant'Albano was also announced as the new voice of Gwendolyn. A release date has yet to be announced.

Persona 4 Revival Shows More of Its Story

Persona 4 Revival was another major focus of the broadcast, with Atlus presenting an inerview with P-Studio producer Kazuhisa Wada. Titled “Rebuilding a Classic for Today,” the video explores how Atlus is reimagining the beloved RPG for modern audiences while preserving the elements that made the original Persona 4 so memorable.

The presentation highlights the game's updated visuals, characters, story, and gameplay, while discussing the challenges of rebuilding a classic for a new generation. Persona 4 Revival follows Yu Narukami and the Investigation Team as they investigate a series of mysterious disappearances connected to the Midnight Channel in the rural town of Inaba.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Launch Trailer is Out

Meanwhile, The Blood of Dawnwalker received another prominent appearance during the Gamescom coverage with its launch trailer. Rebel Wolves' dark fantasy action RPG combines vampire mythology with a branching narrative and a world built around player choice. The game is being developed by veterans of The Witcher series and has been positioned as the studio's first major project. Xbox has previously highlighted its dynamic world and vampire systems, while recent footage has offered a closer look at its combat and atmosphere.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is Ready to Launch

The launch trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy was also unveiled, offering one final look at Asobo Studio’s upcoming action-adventure before its release. Set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem, the game follows Sophia, a young plunderer whose search for the legendary Minotaur's Island leads her into a dangerous journey full of ancient mysteries, deadly enemies and long-buried secrets.

The trailer provides a cinematic final glimpse at Sophia’s adventure and highlights the game’s striking environments and dramatic atmosphere. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches today, August 27, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is also available day one through Xbox Game Pass.

The new Fable Shows Its Gameplay

Fable was another major focus of the broadcast. Playground Games presented new footage from the upcoming action RPG, giving viewers a more detailed look at combat and the world of Albion. The demonstration highlighted the game's combination of melee attacks, ranged weapons and magic, while maintaining the humorous and unpredictable tone that has defined the franchise. Fable will launch on February 23, 2027, with Premium Edition owners receiving early access from February 18. It will also be available day one through Game Pass.
