Is GTA 6 coming to PC in Q1 2027? Here’s what’s confirmed

PC players have watched the GTA 6 hype from the sidelines for years. Now there’s a real reason to pay attention. A new report says Grand Theft Auto VI could reach PC in the first quarter of 2027, only a few months after it launches on consoles.

Rockstar has confirmed one launch: GTA 6 arrives on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It has not announced a PC version, and it hasn’t given a date or even a rough window for one.

Console players shouldn’t expect smooth frame rates either. The game reportedly runs at 30fps on consoles, and Rockstar says it has nothing to share about a performance mode. For many players, that alone makes the PC version the one worth waiting for.

What the GTA 6 PC rumour says

GamesBeat reports that four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans expect a PC launch between January and March 2027. Leaker Detective Seeds made a similar claim back in the spring. After talking to former Rockstar staff, he named February 2027.

That would be a big change from Rockstar’s usual pattern. GTA V took 19 months to reach PC after its 2013 console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 also kept PC players waiting more than a year.

A few things make the early window believable:

• Timing: Take-Two’s financial year ends on March 31, 2027. A Q1 launch would put both console and PC sales in the same year.
• Roleplay and online: GTA’s huge roleplay scene runs on PC through frameworks like FiveM. GTA 6’s online mode is expected sometime in 2027, so getting PC players in early makes sense.
• Leaks and emulation: Console jailbreaks and emulation projects get more advanced every year. If Rockstar waits 18 months, people could find unofficial ways to play GTA 6 on PC before the real release. Launching a proper PC version early is the simplest way to get ahead of that.

Until Rockstar confirms anything, though, treat Q1 2027 as a strong rumour, not a release date.
