Square Enix-s most popular RPG series is coming back to the storefronts this month with a new installment. Final Fantasy XVI will transport players to Valisthea, a fantasy world divided into six nations. The appearance of a mysterious plague known as the Blight has increased the tension between these nations. You will find yourself in the middle of this conflict in the shoes of Clive Rosfield, who has seen his homeland destroyed and seeks revenge.
Apart from a brand new storyline with new protagonists, Final Fantasy XVI offers players plenty of novelties when it comes to gameplay when compared to its predecessor. The game features a third-person combat experience with a deep focus on action in real time during battles. The system reminisces of the one seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake, and it feels more dynamic and modern that the old turn-based battles.
A new type of Final Fantasy game
You can now watch Clive Rosfield fighting against new enemies in an exclusive video courtesy of IGN. With almost 20 minutes of footage, the video offers the best view of the game to date and it's full of interesting elements.
As you can see in the video, the footage is focused on the exploration of a dungeon and reveals some details about Clive's abilities in the game, also showing that the combat system is quite flexible, and more dynamic than any other seen in the Final Fantasy series so far.
