Battlefield 6 Lowers Achievement Requirements After Fan Backlash
Battlefield 6 players can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After widespread criticism regarding the game's notoriously difficult challenges and grind-heavy progression, the developers have lowered the requirements for completing many achievements and assignments. The update, released yesterday, aims to make progression more accessible without compromising the skill-based elements of gameplay.
Major adjustments to assignments
The update includes more than 90 adjustments across various classes, weapons, and gameplay modes. Some of the most notable changes include: reducing the assault rifle "Rapid Fire 1" damage requirement from 10,000 to 3,000, cutting the "Danger Close 1" carbine kills from 250 to 30 and damage from 10,000 to 1,000, and lowering support-class revives from 200 to 60. Even squad-based assignments, such as deploying teammates on spawn beacons, saw a reduction from 50 to just 5. Importantly, progress already made under the old system carries over. Players who were partially through an assignment may now find it automatically completed, sparing them from repeating tedious grind tasks.
Since launch, many players voiced frustration at how demanding the assignments were, especially for casual gamers or those with limited playtime. The combination of high thresholds and exploit risks in custom-server modes created a barrier that discouraged engagement. Developers recognized these concerns and stated that the goal of the update was to reduce unnecessary time investment while keeping challenges skill-oriented.
The response from the community to the changes has been largely positive, with many players welcoming the changes as a relief. Casual gamers, in particular, praised the quick implementation of the adjustments, noting that challenges now feel achievable without sacrificing enjoyment. However, some veteran players expressed mixed feelings. For those who enjoyed the original grind as a test of dedication, the lowered requirements may feel like a reduction in accomplishment. Despite these differing opinions, the consensus is that the update has significantly improved the overall experience for most players.
While this overhaul resolves many issues, some concerns remain. Bugs related to assignment tracking, weapon balancing, and vehicle spawns are still being addressed. Additionally, XP farming exploits in Portal mode prompted further restrictions to maintain fairness. Developers have indicated that this update is the first of several planned improvements to progression and assignments.
A firm step forward
For those frustrated by the old system, now is an ideal time to revisit Battlefield 6. Many previously daunting assignments are now within reach, offering a more enjoyable and less stressful experience. While the sense of long-term accomplishment may feel shortened for some, the update ensures that progression is more rewarding without being punishing.
Battlefield 6 has listened to its community, reducing the grind and making challenges far more attainable. However, the game's developer studio will have to work hard to keep the community engaged and satisfied, especially with the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 around the corner. Even if both games offer significantly different experiences, maintaining Battlefield 6 at the top will require good communication wth the community.
The update marks a major step toward a more balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience. If you want to test the impact of these changes by yourself, remember that you can find the cheapest Battlefield 6 digital codes with our comparator.
