Build a village, raise an army, start a rebellion in Bellwright
Bellwright is the kind of medieval survival game where you don’t just swing a sword and call it a day. You start as an outlaw, blamed for the murder of a prince, and from there the game slowly turns into a big mix of survival, base building, village management, army raising, and rebellion planning. One minute you are chopping wood and trying to keep your camp alive, the next you are recruiting villagers, setting up production, training fighters, and pushing back against the Crown.
The fun part is that Bellwright does not feel like a simple “build a hut and eat berries” survival game. It has that familiar open-world crafting loop, but the bigger hook is the settlement. Your people actually matter. They gather resources, craft gear, help expand your base, and eventually become part of your fight. It is a bit like Medieval Dynasty in the way it mixes survival with village life, but Bellwright leans much harder into combat, rebellion, and taking territory back.
Bellwright finally marches onto PlayStation
The PlayStation release is a big deal because console players can finally jump into this medieval mess from the couch. Bellwright launched on PlayStation 5 on June 9, 2026, alongside Xbox Series X|S, opening the game to a much wider crowd after its long run on PC Early Access. For anyone who wanted a survival game with more swords, more mud, more angry guards, and less “peaceful farming simulator” energy, this is probably one to watch.
There is one important thing to know before grabbing your friends, though. Co-op did not arrive on PlayStation at launch. The developers said unexpected bugs stopped co-op from being ready on consoles day one, but it is planned to arrive shortly after release. Crossplay is also not available yet, but it is in development, together with self-hosted dedicated servers planned for later in 2026. So yes, Bellwright is clearly being built with multiplayer in mind, but console players may need a little patience before the full “medieval squad night” dream is ready.
Still, even solo, Bellwright has a strong pitch: build a village, raise a rebellion, and make the Crown regret messing with the wrong peasant. And before you buy it, make sure to use our price comparison tool to find the best prices for Bellwright and grab the deal that works best for you.
