The number is impressive, but it's also important to recognize that Black Flag started with a huge fan base. Nostalgia played a significant role in this launch. From the feedback I've read here, the majority of users had already played the original version and considered it the best Assassin's Creed game in the series.

As it turns out, one of the best installments in the franchise, some will say it's a good pirate game but a bad Assassin's Creed... I'm one of the lucky ones who saw the announcement of a remake for this title that I barely touched when it was released, can't wait to jump into it and sail the seas and challenge the scoundrels who would dare to cross my path!

This is great news for Ubisoft. I'd love to see a direct comparison with the sales figures for Assassin's Creed Shadows over the same period, to better gauge the remake's impact. Above all, I hope Ubisoft will continue to release both new Assassin's Creed games and remakes from time to time. Seeing the very first AC return with a truly modern overhaul would be fantastic, and the Ezio trilogy (AC II, Brotherhood, and Revelations) clearly deserves the same treatment. This would allow longtime fans to rediscover these classics and new players to experience them in the best possible way.
