Resident Evil Village is coming in 2021

Sony did it again. The Future of Gaming event that was held yesterday to reveal PlayStation 5 has been a great success that has left everyone amazed. Not only the next-generation console was shown but there were a good number of games that were announced too. Among those, one of the most important ones is the new installment in the Resident Evil series, which has been named Resident Evil Village although most people just call it Resident Evil 8. It was announced with an impressive trailer that reveals a little bit of the story and the atmosphere of the game, and we have to say that it looks amazing too.

Resident Evil Village will continue the story after the events in Resident Evil 7 and it will take Ethan and his wife Mia to a European village, but it's nothing like the one that we could visit in Resident Evil 4. Although the reasons for the couple to be there are not clear, what the video reveals is that the inhabitants of the place hide terrible secrets and that some monsters are lurking in the shadows of the snow-covered village. Even though there are no references to Umbrella in the video, we can't guarantee that the evil corporation has nothing to do with the events and we will have to wait until more information about Resident Evil Village is revealed in the following months.

The video doesn't reveal much about the gameplay in the game, but one thing that is clear is that Resident Evil Village will be played in first-person view. That's good news for the fans of the series because it means that the level of immersion in Resident Evil Village will be quite high, and that's something really needed to have the best experience while playing horror games.

No release date for Resident Evil Village has been revealed so far, but the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC next year.
