Romestead is a cooperative 2D action-adventure survival and city-building RPG set in a reimagined, myth-infused version of ancient Rome. The game places players in a world devastated by a supernatural apocalypse. The Roman civilization has collapsed, and its citizens have returned as hostile "Fallen." Your task is to rebuild society from the ruins while surviving nightly monster waves, exploring dangerous biomes, and restoring the favor of the Roman gods.

Romestead blends survival crafting, base building, RPG progression, and cooperative multiplayer for up to 8 players. Instead of traditional inventory systems, it uses a physical resource interaction model where players pick up, carry, and even throw materials directly in the world, streamlining management and keeping gameplay focused on action and construction.

Players gather resources, craft weapons and buildings, recruit citizens to automate their settlement, and unlock divine blessings tied to different Roman deities. Combat is action-oriented with dodging, timing, and varied weapon types, while exploration spans procedurally generated biomes filled with dungeons, secrets, and bosses.

The game emphasizes accessible systems, removing mechanics like weapon durability, while retaining deep progression through gear upgrades, skills, and god-based abilities.

In short, it’s a hybrid of survival crafting, RPG combat, and cooperative city management, built around rebuilding Rome as an evolving civilization in a hostile mythological world.
