    Can I place a cat in a space even if it doesn't match any of the colored yarn in the pattern, and if so, what happens?
    Yes, you can place a cat regardless of yarn color matching, but the cat won't score any points from its yarn and also won't contribute to the completion of any pattern it's placed in.
    If I have multiple cats in a pattern, are the colors of yarn they're associated with combined for scoring purposes?
    No, each cat's yarn color is scored independently. A cat scores based only on the yarn of its own color that it is adjacent to.
    When completing a pattern, does the order in which I place the final yarn pieces matter for scoring?
    No, the order of placement does not affect the pattern's final score, as long as the pattern is completely filled with the correct colors.
    If I complete a pattern using more yarn of the required colors than necessary, do I gain any extra points?
    No, you only score for the pattern itself. Excess yarn of matching colors does not provide any additional points.
    Can I intentionally leave spaces empty in a pattern, and if so, does that impact the scoring of adjacent cats?
    Yes, you can leave spaces empty. This will not directly impact the scoring of adjacent cats, but it will reduce the overall pattern score since the incomplete pattern will score less.
    If two cats are adjacent to each other, do they both score from the yarn between them, or only from yarn that uniquely belongs to their own color?
    Each cat scores only from the yarn that matches its own color, even if it is placed between two cats.
    Does the scoring for a pattern increase if it has more than one cat of the required color?
    No, the pattern score is based on the filled shape of the pattern, regardless of how many cats are inside it.
    When drawing yarn, am I forced to use all three pieces, or can I choose to use less, and if so, are the unused pieces discarded or retained?
    You must choose and place one of the three yarn colors drawn. The other two pieces are discarded at the end of your turn.
    Do I have to place yarn pieces immediately after drawing them, or can I save them for later turns?
    You must place a yarn piece on the turn you draw it.
    Are there specific pattern shapes that score more points than others, or are all pattern shapes equally valuable?
    Pattern shapes vary in difficulty and score. More complex or larger patterns generally award more points than simpler ones.
