    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch between Crimson and Void realms mid-combo, and if so, how does that impact enemy stun and damage?
Yes, you can swap between realms during combos. Switching between realms resets enemy stun. Damage types are swapped according to the active realm (Crimson deals physical damage and Void deals dark damage).
How does the 'Bloom' mechanic, which is used to purify enemies, interact with the ability to switch between realms?
Bloom is primarily a Void realm ability used to purify tainted enemies. You need to be in the Void realm to initiate the Bloom, and using Bloom on the incorrect enemy type will not trigger the desired effect. This mechanic is especially important in the Void realm.
If I defeat an enemy in one realm and then switch realms, does the enemy's state or the rewards change?
No. Defeating an enemy in either realm results in the same outcome and rewards. Realm switching does not impact defeated enemies. It is more important for combat and puzzle solving while the enemies are alive.
How do I upgrade Flynn's abilities, and how does the upgrade system account for switching between the Crimson and Void realms?
Flynn's abilities are upgraded using collected Essence. Upgrades are divided into Crimson and Void categories, and also have general categories. Upgrading a specific ability improves the respective ability's impact in the associated realm.
Are there any enemies or environmental hazards that can only be interacted with or damaged by a specific realm?
Yes, certain enemies and hazards can only be damaged or interacted with in the Crimson or Void realm. This is a core mechanic of the game, and requires the player to constantly switch realms to progress.
How does the game encourage players to use both realms in rapid succession during combat?
The game encourages rapid realm switching through combo systems, and enemy behaviors that have different weaknesses between realms. Some enemies will require a switch mid-combo to break their defense.
Can I use abilities from both realms simultaneously, or do I need to switch realms to access different abilities?
You must switch realms to access different abilities. The game is designed to have the player master switching in rapid succession to perform combos and manipulate enemies.
What is the consequence of dying in either the Crimson or Void realm?
Dying in either realm restarts the player at the last checkpoint. Progress, upgrades, and collected Essence are saved.
Are there any puzzles that require simultaneous interaction with both realms?
Yes, many puzzles involve manipulating objects and environments in both Crimson and Void realms, often requiring quick realm switching.
Does the environment change visually when switching between the Crimson and Void realms, and how does this affect gameplay?
Yes, the environment changes significantly between realms, providing visual cues for the current realm and the interactions available within. The visual differences and environmental effects provide hints to the player.
