With no main story to speak of, your character will go on a variety of missions aimed at killing monsters, looting treasure, crafting your own gear, and assigning different skills to your character to create your very own build.
Rune Knights boasts a high degree of character customization. Choose from among 8 classes to start with, then you can level any skill from those classes as you progress. You have 90 unique skills to choose from as well as over a hundred different talents. You can alter your specialization whenever you level up to suit the build you have in mind. At higher levels, you also gain Super Abilities, which charge up as you kill enemies.
Choose from a plethora of weapons, including swords, bows, staves, hammers, shields, and many others. You control every aspect of the creation of your weapons and armor. You can gain materials from monster drops or by purchasing them from shops. Every piece of gear has its own stats and a random ability that you access when you equip it.
Rune Knights also features powerful and unique enemies, with over 20 different monster types and 5 bosses unique bosses to challenge your skills. Correct customization and gear selection will help you to stay alive. And if faced with a difficult enemy, form your own multiplayer squad of four players to take them down. Work together and theory-craft your unique abilities in order to survive and thrive.
