Screenshot from West of Dead featuring a skeleton character holding a pistol in a dark environment.

William Mason (voiced by Ron Perlman) is dead and awakens to only the memory of a figure in black. He is now a gun-toting fighter with a flaming skull of sorts in Purgatory, Wyoming in the year 1888. The grim and gritty world of Purgatory is full of gun smoke and darkness, sin and damnation, wendigos and witches. A shifting, chaotic world that takes its form from the memories, culture or beliefs of the souls who pass through. Battle undead outlaws and beasts in this roguelike shooter that uses procedural generation for its stylish environments. Take cover while you shoot your enemies with the fluidity of twin-stick controls.
