Esoteric Ebb is a narrative-driven isometric role-playing game that blends investigative storytelling with the unpredictable spirit of tabletop RPGs. You play as a cleric sent to the peculiar city of Norvik after a mysterious magical explosion rocks the streets just days before the city's first democratic election. What begins as a routine investigation quickly unravels into a tangled web of conspiracies, political agendas, and arcane secrets that many powerful figures would rather keep buried.

As you explore Norvik, you'll encounter a strange cast of characters, from ideological politicians and eccentric scholars to supernatural beings with their own motives. Conversations are deep and reactive, allowing you to shape your character's personality as you approach to the investigation. Your abilities aren't just numbers on a character sheet, they manifest as internal voices that comment on situations, guide your decisions, and sometimes tempt you toward questionable choices.

Inspired by tabletop mechanics, much of the game revolves around dice-based skill checks. Success is never guaranteed. Failures often open unexpected narrative paths, creating memorable moments that make every playthrough feel distinct.
