Gears 5 focuses on Kait Diaz, an Outsider of Locust descent. The story continues the events started in Gears of War 4. The player embarks on a journey across Sera to uncover the truth about her connection to the Locust and its origins. The story campaign will be playable solo, and it will also allow for online multiplayer and local split-screen gameplay. Follow the Hivebuster squad as they make their way through Locust and Swarm enemies, escaping a gas bomb that will kill everything. JD Fenix, his father, Marcus Fenix and Delmont Walker are also back.
The game comes with five modes and a deep campaign story. The Escape mode is described as "an aggressive, high-stakes, three-player co-op mode featuring a suicide squad that must work together to take out enemy hives from within."
There will also be a Terminator crossover, the Terminator Dark Fate Character Pack, where you can choose to play either as The Terminator or Sarah Connor. To play as Connor or The Terminator, you must pre-order or buy and play Gears 5 within its first week
