Released late 2016, Civilization VI, sixth installment of the famous turn-based strategy game license, has released a number of minor patches and DLC. Firaxis has released today a major expansion, Rise and Fall, with a plethora of new content, detailed below.
- A new system of golden ages, which also includes dark ages, allowing the player to take on challenges and win both bonuses and penalties. If you come out triumphant from a dark age, you will obtain a golden age even more interesting thereafter.
- Loyalty will become a key component in Rise and Fall. Every city now has its own allegiance to your leader. You will have to be careful to maintain a certain balance in all your colonies, on risk of seeing them offer their loyalty to one of your opponents.
- You will now be able to recruit governors for your cities. They will allow you to maintain the loyalty of your population, but also to give bonuses and specializations to your cities.
- The alliance system has also been improved, and proposes new diplomatic choices.
- A timeline allows you to easily track the progress and history of your civilization.
- Rise and Fall also lets you discover 8 new civilizations and 9 new leaders, with, of course, units, buildings, and improvements of their own.
- With Rise and Fall you will also discover 8 new wonders, 7 new natural wonders, 2 new improvements, 2 new neighborhoods, 14 new buildings and 3 new resources.
- Finally, new doctrines have been added to allow you greater freedom in your political choices.
