S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a post-apocalyptic survival horror game and the prequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, made by GSC Game World in 2008. The title takes place before the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, in the very same zone that was featured in the first game. Players take control of a mercenary known as "Scorpion" who must scavenge supplies, explore dangerous environments, and combat hostile mutants and other survivors while struggling to survive within the contaminated Zone.
Players will find themselves being challenged not only by foes from outside but also from within as they are constantly being tested by rival factions and survivors. The game’s atmosphere is intense, with an attention to detail that creates a believable post-apocalyptic world for gamers to explore. A variety of weapons and equipment can be used, ranging from conventional firearms to makeshift tools, while players can also upgrade their gear with technology scavenged from the Zone. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky also includes a variety of multiplayer modes, allowing up to 16 players to compete in team deathmatch and free-for-all games or take part in cooperative missions against AI opponents. The game features an open-world sandbox design, with a multitude of side missions and events that can be encountered, making each playthrough unique.
