The Relic: First Guardian – The last hope of Arsiltus

The Relic: First Guardian - A journey to reclaim Arsiltus
Gameplay

The Relic: First Guardian is an action role-playing game set in a dark fantasy world deeply infuenced by Asian folklore. The game is currently being developed by Project Cloud Games and published by Perp Games. Let's take a look at the plot and mechanics of this game!

A desolate world setting and the tragedy of the land of Arsiltus

The game takes you to Arsiltus, a land that was once immensely prosperous but has now been devastated and turned into a desolate, ruined battlefield after a great relic was destroyed. Amidst that bleak and silent space, the last breaths and the whispers of the past carrying promises, anticipation, fear, and love still linger.

These forgotten voices are the relics—fragments that contain the emotions and aspirations of those who once lived in the previous era. In the role of a Guardian, your mission is to collect these relics, honor their memories, and find a way to restore prosperity to the world of Arsiltus.

The game's offers a Souls-like gameplay experience requiring high skills but featuring very distinct, innovative mechanics. A unique point in the game's combat system is that the stamina bar will not be consumed when you perform attacks; instead, stamina is retained and used entirely for defensive actions, blocking, and dodging. The moves and skills in the game operate on a fixed cooldown time, meaning players completely do not have to worry about consuming energy or other resources, allowing the pace of the battle to remain continuous and smooth.

Players will improve their strength by collecting memories in the form of relics. There are over 70 unique passive effects, which can completely change how skills function, alter the combat pace, or deeply enhance each specific type of weapon. Not only that, the game features 5 different types of weapons designed around distinct emotional themes, accompanied by 12 exclusive skill trees, allowing you to freely combine them to create a character class with its own identity.

Instead of a conventional random loot system, every weapon and piece of armor in the game world is unique and appears only once. Each item is a relic tied to a heroic or tragic history of its former owner (for example, the last sword of a legendary knight or a shield representing an ancient oath of a clan).

The game features over 70 challenging bosses, each carrying their own tragic story: they could be ordinary humans turned into monsters by a curse or famine, losing their sanity and ready to slaughter their own kind. Facing and defeating them is not only a test of skill but also a way for you to learn about their stories, helping those suffering souls finally rest in peace.

In summary, if you are looking for a game quite similar to Elden Ring, but with a deeper plot and special mechanics, this could be a good choice. Remember to use our comparison tool to pre-order The Relic: First Guardian at the best price!

I’m all about motorcycles, retro gaming, and the golden handheld era of the PSP and PS Vita. I love the thrill of the ride just as much as the nostalgia of classic games. I believe games can bring people together, spark creativity, and make the world a little brighter—one adventure at a time.
