Homeworld 3 has been delayed a couple of months

Developer Blackbird Interactive is having some problems completing the development of Homeworld 3 in time. The release of the third installment in the popular sci-fi RTS series was scheduled for March 8 but the game is not where the studio expected. However, two months seem to be enough to bring it to a proper state and polish its features to make it a worthy successor of Homeworld 2. After extensive playtesting, the studio has concluded that May 13 is a more appropriate date to release the game and offer the players the experience they intend to deliver.

"After careful analysis of feedback, we made the decision to delay the global launch of Homeworld 3 until May 13, with advanced access set for May 10, to ensure that we’re making the final tweaks needed to deliver at the level of quality that we strive for and you deserve."

This is not the first time that the release of Homeworld 3 has been delayed. However, it seems unlikely that it will happen again. The development process seems to be almost complete and proof of that is that you can even try the game for yourself now thanks to a demo.

There is a free demo of Homeworld 3 currently available on Steam. It gives players the opportunity to try the new War Games mode. This exciting gameplay mode is a roguelike experience where up to three players take on a variety of combat challenges cooperatively. After completing each challenge, the ships in each fleet can be upgraded before the next round.

Those participating in the Homeworld 3 demo need to know that their progress will carry over to the main game if they decide to purchase it later. As usual, remember that you can use our comparator to check out the best discounts and preorder Homeworld 3 ahead of release.
