Galactic Civilizations series is one of the best when it comes to space 4X strategy and it's mainly thanks to the incredible amount of options that its games offer you. The latest installment in the series, Galactic Civilizations 3, is a critically acclaimed game that puts you at the head of your race as it expands through the galaxy. You have to research technologies, manage your resources and colonize other worlds. But you eventually will meet other civilizations, and trade, diplomacy, and warfare will be another important part of the game then. Building your interstellar empire is not an easy task and you will have to keep an eye on many things at the same time. Fortunately, the Galactic Civilizations series has always managed to keep micromanagement levels rather low compared to other franchises.
There are plenty of DLCs that you can use to expand the content in Galactic Civilizations 3 and enhance your gameplay with lots of new features, but if you are a seasoned veteran of the series and you are looking for something new you will be glad to know that developer Stardock has announced a sequel. Galactic Civilizations 4 is already in the works and even though its launch is scheduled for next year the game will enter Early Access this summer. Therefore if you are a fan of the series you will be able to discover all that the new game brings to the series very soon.

There are still plenty of things that can change and features to discover in Galactic Civilizations 4, but if you are interested in checking them by yourself, Early Access will be the best option.
