Eye of the Beast turns Skull and Bones into a sea horror

The new “Eye of the Beast” Year 2 Season 4 gameplay trailer for Skull and Bones shows that the seas are about to get a lot more dangerous. This time, the spotlight is on something far bigger than rival pirate crews. The trailer opens with rough waters, dark skies, and ships sailing into what clearly isn’t a normal storm.

The headline feature is the Kraken. Ubisoft describes it as a huge, multi-phase boss designed for group play, with attacks like whirlpools, tentacle slams, ink strikes, and poison fog. The key detail is that it can hit multiple ships at once, so it’s not just about having a strong build — it’s about keeping your crew coordinated when things get messy. 

 

 

The Corvette joins the fleet as a new large ship option

Season 4 also adds a new large ship you can craft: the Corvette. It’s presented as a support/DPS option that helps your team hit harder and recover faster, built around a stacking perk called Flagbearer. In other words, it looks like a ship made for players who like staying in the thick of a fight while boosting the squad.

On top of that, the footage shows tougher weather systems and heavy combat moments. Storms seem more intense, and positioning your ship during fights looks more important than ever. There are also signs of new gear and upgrades, likely built to help players deal with these larger threats.

Finally, the trailer season isn’t only about new threats. Ubisoft also calls out quality-of-life updates like new inventory tabs, ship management without docking, rear weapons on small ships, and more immersive weapon ballistics, alongside broader seasonal changes and Faction War updates.
