Dead Space has gone gold

Dead Space has gone gold

Christmas means a lot of things to be thankful for, and one of them is that the highly-anticipated remake of Dead Space has gone gold. Developer EA Motive announced that they have completed development for the game, which means that, barring the worst-case scenario, Dead Space is on track for its January 27, 2023 release date.

From here, the game will be printed on Blu-ray discs to be sold as physical copies in shops worldwide.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that development is over. Like with other games, EA Motive will likely push a day-one patch to fix any problems that show up. Even a game as anticipated as The Callisto Protocol was widely panned after releasing on time with several game-breaking bugs.

Dead Space has been long-awaited after being gone for 10 years. It’s also returning at a peculiar time when survival horror has grown into a popular genre on the backs of games like the Resident Evil series and the resurrected Silent Hill games. Even indie offerings like Signalis had its time in the sun. Given its pedigree and the various upgrades it’s reportedly getting, it seems Dead Space will be a hit despite being a remake.

The recent preview of Dead Space made it look like protagonist Isaac Clarke is being played by Adam Sandler, but in truth, he is being played by Gunner Wright, the same actor who played him in Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3. Also returning is Tanya Clarke, who is playing Senior Medical Officer Nicole Brennan. They will be joined by Brigitte Kali Canales of Fear the Walking Dead and Star Wars: The Clone Wars as Kendra Daniels, and Faran Tahir from Star Trek will play Dr. Challus Mercer.

Dead Space is launching on January 27, 2023, for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-order a Dead Space PS5 key today from our comparator.
